President accepts US offer to help on abducted girls

The US government has offered to assist Nigeria locate and rescue the girls from the Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok, Borno State, abducted three weeks ago in by suspected members of the Boko Haram sect.

President Good Luck Jonathan Has welcomed the offer from President Barack Obama through the Secretary of State Mr John Terry  on a  telephone conversation on Tuesday 6th May which began at3.30pm which involved security personal to work with Nigerian counterpart in the search on rescue operation. he assured President Jonathan the US is fully committed on giving Nigeria all required support and assistance to save the abducted girls and bring the unleashed of terror by Boko Haram.

President Jonathan later met with the Chief of security staff and Army staff to receive the update and approval for recommended actions. 

UK offer help to rescue abducted Chibok girls

Yesterday the British Foreign Minister , Williams Hague said they will be willing to help Nigeria find the missing girl from the hands of the Boko Haram. He did not say the details on how they will help find them.

GEJ: We dont know where the girls are.

The presidential media chat held in Abuja yesterday  with the President , 
President Goodlock Jonathan, he said these no plan to increase the price of petroleum, that if need be Nigerians will be informed before the effect date.

He also talked about the  missing girls in Chibok  that "we dont know where the girls are , that effects have been made helicopter and scanning machines had been used to see what is on the surface of  the earth around the Borno.

 Where asked about the corruption in the country and how his dealing with it, He said  the constitution have  a way of handling such and talked about the Petroleum Minister that the past Ministers for that office made use of Jet and if need be they hire Jet to carryout their function and the Senate is handling the case of the present Minister for  Petroleum and resources.

 He also corrected the Presented that his statement that Boko Haram is in his cabinet, that what he said was that Boko Haram are in the Government and not his cabinet, he sited as example.
He promised that those girls will be found and brought back.

CAN Releases name of abducted Chibok girls

 

The Christian Association of Nigerian, Northern  has released the name of the abducted Chibok girls.
 According to the list , it was said the 165 girls are Christians and only 15 girls out of the abducted girl are Muslims.

The Chairman of CAN,Northern Chapter said the approach Government can use is to work hand in hand with the neighbouring countries to help, that will help get those girls back . 
He said any other approach might lead to the insurgents killing t he girls. 

The organisation said apart from the 50 million Naira damage as trauma compensation to each of the girls, the government must also take each of them to universities abroad on government scholarship by September 2014, while also demanding for the immediate transfer of SS1 and SS2 girls from schools in Chibok to schools of their choice, the cost of which must be borne by the government.
