I will not resign --Moro

President Goodluck Jonathan  issued a query to the Minister of Interior Comrade Abba Moro to explain within 24 hours the poor handing of the immigration recruitment exercise. 

The interior Minister,Abba Moro and Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service Davis Parradang were summoned to the presidential villa by President GoodLuck Jonathan, The Interior Minister who dressed in a white Caftan, appeared disturbed after emerging from the President's office in company of the Immigration boss. 

Source at the villa said President Jonathan was worried by Saturday's incidence had queried the Interior minister to explain the poor handing exercise as witnessed across the country.

Comrade Abba Moro declared yesterday that he will not resign his appointment saying such move will amount to running away from the problem.

He Made the declaration just as he stated that the Federal government would soon inaugurate a panel of eminent Nigerians and stakeholders to probe the tragedy to ensure that the nation does not experience such deaths in the future.

The lecturers of the Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State staged a protest over the irregular payment on their salaries in the past three years, on Monday 17th March and they agreed to stay away from lecture room indefinitely.

The protesters showed their grievances to the Vice Chancellor, Prof Saburi Adesanya  of the Institution through a letter and urged him to directly forward their message to Governor Ibikunle Amusun.
The Chairman of the OOU branch of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) Dr.Deji Agboola  accused Ogun State government for the irregular payment. He also appeal to the Governor, Governor Amosun to put lectures salaries in the first line charge of expenditure, just like other civil  and public servants in the State. He further buttress the fact that the irregular payment of lecturers salaries denied them to meet their financial obligations. He added that:

         'we are tired of working for months and receiving only one month salary. our members have affirmed that they have been deprived the opportunity to come to work as salaries are not paid'

Dr. Agboola also alleged that lecturers of OOU had in the past three years been subjected to arbitrary taxation by the State government, which led to confusions in the volume of taxes being paid by them.

The lecturers further fated the use of the Point of Sales System for the collection of fees in the institution, describing it as exploitation and negating the whit paper issued by the Visitation Panel to the institution set up by the current administration.

It was initially scheduled in February in the Maldives Island and now rescheduled to Dubai just like Tu baba’s wedding.

Chris Brown to stay in jail

Orange is the new Brown wardrobe. Chris Brown's lawyer was unable to persuade a Los Angeles judge to let the singer out of jail on Monday.

Brown, 24, wore an orange jail jumpsuit at court, with his mother sitting behind him, while attorney Mark Geragos argued the singer should be allowed to enter another rehab program instead of spending the next month in jail.

The singer was locked up on a probation violation warrant Friday after he was booted from a court-ordered drug rehab program.

Assistant District Attorney Mary Murray said Brown has already been ejected from two rehab programs in the last five months and another program should not be considered.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge James Brandlin said he was concerned about a "provocative" statement counselors said Brown wrote on a card at the Malibu rehab center. "I am good at using guns and knives," according to a document read in court.

The rehab program told Brown to leave because of that statement and two other rules violations, the document said. Brown refused a drug test -- which his lawyer denied -- and he touched elbows with a female patient, according to the document.

Brown's next chance to get out of jail comes on April 23 when Brandlin considers if his arrest on a misdemeanor assault charge in Washington justifies keeping him locked up. There is a possibility the judge will speed up that decision so Brown can travel to D.C. for a trial on that charge.

Brown's legal troubles began five years ago, when he beat Rihanna as the two sat in a rented Lamborghini on a Hollywood street. He pleaded guilty to felony assault in June 2009, which resulted in a sentence of five years of probation and 1,400 hours of community labor.

The judge has revoked Brown's probation twice in the past year, most recently because of his arrest on a sidewalk near the White House after he allegedly punched a man.

Brown voluntarily entered a rehab program a day after being released from a Washington jail in October, but he was kicked out a few days later for "throwing a rock through his mother's car window" after a family session at the center, a probation report said. Brown was upset because his mother said she wanted him to stay in treatment, the report said.

"Mr. Brown proceeded to walk outside and pick up a rock and threw it through his mother's car window and it shattered," according to a letter from the rehab center included in the probation report. 

West's controversial moment

West is paying a price for not ignoring a swarm of paparazzi surrounding him at an airport this past summer.

A no contest plea is treated the same as a guilty plea for purposes of the sentencing Judge Alan Rubin sentenced west to serve two years probation for the misconduct batter conviction. He must attend 24 anger management session, perform 250 hours of community service and pay restitution to victim. The Judge said he will review the community service to make sure west is getting no preferential treatment.
